First of all, don’t fight it, growing a beard it’s a natural process, don’t believe all the lies from the anti-beard zealots.
The secret for a good beard is to channel the primal spirit of grizly bears into your chin, I’ll not go on the details here but you can probably find a tutorial on the interwebz
After that you need to have some time with your beard, learn to know it, have some fun
But never let the beard go out of control, you have to let it know who is the boss or else it’ll go restless
In the sad case that you can’t grow a beard you can always try some prostetics
Remember, beards are a lifestile
