Love Hurts: A Kit to Survive any Heartbreak by Melanie Chernoc
“Love Hurts was created based on an assignment to make an activity book. I thought it would be more interesting to make a sort of activity kit instead.
From there, I came up with the concept of Love Hurts: A first aid kit for a broken heart. Initially, I knew that I did not want to make a kit of sadness and wanted to approach the product with a sense of humor. Love Hurts contains all of the essentials for going through a rough breakup such as dark chocolate, vodka, bubble bath soap, a candle with matches, candy hearts, a mix CD, and, if all else fails, tissues.
All of the products come neatly packaged in a compact kit. A promo video was also made to show the products in use. ”

Fully 3D printable GlaDOS Robotic ceiling arm lamp
Instructables user dragonator made this step by step guide to make a fully 3D printable GlaDOS from Portal (1 and 2), that is also a lamp and can be converted into a robotic arm, with a superled in the eye .
“To make this lamp you will need a printer that is comfortable printing with a lot of support material. The design isn’t supportless and is quite hard to print. I used a UP! 3D printer, that is more than capable enough printing with support material. All of the parts are designed around the maximum build sizes of the UP!.
Also you will need some skills electronics and be comfortable using power from the mains. Also you will need a LOT of time. Printing alone will set you back at least 40 hours.”

The Heart by İyiofis
Designed for the main showroom of the Bilsar Building in Turkey, this giant installation is clad in rope to simulate the striated exterior of the human heart and the lights are because why not, it’s art. The Heart connects the upper and lower chambers of the room, becoming a vital function of the room and containing a hollowed out interior for sticking your head in so you can quietly contemplate the experience of being an internal organ and dispensing sweet, liquid-y life.

Death and Mutation of Mother Nature by Chul Hwee Kim
For all our progress and innovation, when you put the natural world in the hands of man we have a very special way of fucking it all up. Kim’s series suggests a fate worse than death for the non-human citizens of the earth: twisted and mutated by our corrosive touch.

As sad as I am to see 2012 come to an end, it’s been really an amazing year for me, and part of it is thanks to the great support I have received online for my illustrations, I’m definitely excited to see what 2013 has in store for me and hopefully it will be yet another fantastic year. Thanks to all of my supporters out there, you’re the best.
