Faux-to Realism by Hyung Koo Kang
Currently showing at China International Gallery Exposition 2012 in Beijing, Kang’s work is a mock-photorealism, as the photographs his startling realistic work seems to be based on don’t actually exist. Distorting tiny details, Kang instead makes subtle changes to the timeline, producing an image that only appears to be the person you recognize. But his most glaring alteration - the eyes - should give the ruse away.
