Beyond replacing of what was lost by Shunji Yamanaka
“The picture is a mock-up of the prosthesis in development for women. At the moment is the image model only and will not be able to walk on it yet, we are trying to promote this development.
Prosthesis is intended to complement the lost leg, the objective is the recovery of the appearance as well as recovery of walking function”

A Matter of Perspectives (via Sci-ence)
“Straight out of Stanford University is a new material that is not only touch sensitive, but also self-healing. Being a bit of a human augmentation geek, my mind immediately went to smarter prosthetic limbs that can relay sensation back to their users.
Using nickel micro-particles embedded in a special polymer, the skin is able to detect touch and pressure via changes in the conductivity of the material. Such signals could be relayed to the brain to be interpreted as actual sensation. Pretty cool.”

DNA Double Helix stores genetic information. DNA Polymerase replicates DNA.
RNA Polymerase synthesizes RNA from DNA. Ribosomes use RNA to build proteins
These four biological molecules are essential to all life on Earth.
They originated more than 3 Billion years ago during the Proterozoic Era, in a common ancestor of Bacteria, Archaea, and Eukaryota. Together these molecules form the fundamental pattern of the fractal of life; they are specialized machines that replicate each other and produce an endless variety of new forms. They have evolved over trillions of generations into extraordinarily complex arrangements that consume energy, organize, and reproduce.
